There isn’t a huge difference between these options, so you can choose based on your preference and itinerary.
If you want to get there quickly and efficiently, a taxi is recommended. However, if you’d like to enjoy the atmosphere of the journey, a village bus is a great option.

How to get to Gamcheon Culture Village by bus
Since you can’t get to Gamcheon Culture Village by train alone, taking a village bus is the most common way to go.
To visit Gamcheon Culture Village, you can board a village bus at either Jagalchi Station or Toseong Station on Subway Line 1.
The journey takes approximately 10-15 minutes.
It’s worth noting that the village bus route is identical from both stations.

The village bus bound for Gamcheon Culture Village departs from Jagalchi Station, passes through Toseong Station, and then heads to Gamcheon Village.
As you can see from the arrows on the map, you can board the bus from either station, so there’s not much difference in terms of convenience.
However, I would recommend starting your journey at Jagalchi Station.
Advantages of taking a village bus from Jagalchi Station
・There’s a higher chance of getting a seat as Jagalchi Station is the starting point for the bus.
・The bus stop is about 100 meters closer from the ticket gate at Jagalchi Station.
・The walk to the bus stop at Toseong Station involves a slight uphill climb.
How to get to Gamcheon Culture Village from Jagalchi Station
■There are two bus stops for village buses to Gamcheon Culture Village at Jagalchi Station.
There are two bus stops at Jagalchi Station where you can catch a village bus to Gamcheon Culture Village: one near Exit 3 and the other near Exit 1.
The village bus departing from the bus stop near Exit 3 of Jagalchi Station makes a U-turn and stops at the bus stop near Exit 1.
So, you can catch the bus from either Exit 3 or Exit 1, but it’s recommended to board at Exit 3 as it’s closer to the ticket gate.

Let me explain the route from Exit 3 of Jagalchi Station to the bus stop.
After exiting from Gate 3, turn around and walk straight until you reach the intersection.
Once you’re there, continue walking to the right along the sidewalk.
If you turn right at the intersection, you’ll see a GS25 convenience store straight ahead.
The village bus stop is located a short walk past GS25, about a 2-3 minute walk from Exit 3 of Jagalchi Station.
There are three bus routes to Gamcheon Culture Village: 1-1, 2, and 2-2.
Each bus takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
This time, I’m going to take the number 2-2 bus.

With frequent bus service, you should be able to catch a bus within 10 minutes.
After the village bus departs for a while, it will enter a winding steep slope.

How to get to Gamcheon Culture Village from Toseong Station
In this section, I will provide directions on how to travel from Toseong Station to Gamcheon Culture Village.
Upon exiting the subway at Toseong Station, please proceed to Exit 6.
There’s an art-inspired staircase here because there’s a bus stop near Exit 6 that goes to Gamcheon Village.
Here’s Exit 6.
If you go straight from Exit 6, you’ll come to this intersection. Instead of crossing, follow the sidewalk to the right.
If you turn right at the intersection, just keep going up the slight hill.
Once you pass the big hospital on the way, the bus stop is just a short walk from there.
After passing the hospital, you’ll see two bus stops: one for city buses and one for village buses.
The city bus stop, which has a roof, is the first one you’ll see.
The white and blue bus in the picture is a city bus.
Right behind the city bus stop is the village bus stop. Buses 1, 2, and 2-2 from this stop go to Gamcheon Village.
We’ll all take buses that depart from Jagalchi Station.

The bus stop for your return trip is directly across from the entrance to Gamcheon Culture Village.
To return to Jagalchi Station, take either bus number 1-1, 2, or 2-2. All of these village buses have a final stop at Chungmudong Intersection, which is near the Jagalchi Station where you boarded the bus.
Please note that if you do not get off at the final stop, the bus will continue its route back to Gamcheon Culture Village.

Gamcheon Culture Village has one main street where most of the shops and photo spots are located.
There are many restaurants and shops lined up on the main street.
There are many rental shops for hanbok, and I often see Japanese people wearing them.
Smartphone cases featuring The Little Prince are also very popular.
The sock shop right by the entrance of Gamcheon Culture Village is super popular.
It might be the busiest place in the whole village.
When I take my friends there, they always end up buying a bunch of cute socks!
Best spots for photos
There are plenty of great photo spots, so let me introduce a few.

It’s quite a ways in from the entrance, but there’s always a line of people waiting to take photos.
