Located just a 5-minute walk from Otorii Station on the Keikyu Airport Line, Kantaro is a fantastic spot to enjoy authentic samgyeopsal (Korean-style grilled pork belly) and beef BBQ. It’s the perfect place for families and groups looking for a hearty and delicious meal.

Kantaro welcomes you with a warm wooden facade and softly glowing lanterns, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

The restaurant offers both table and tatami seating (traditional Japanese floor seating). This time, we were guided to the spacious tatami area, ideal for families or groups seeking a relaxed dining experience.

We ordered the Samgyeopsal Set/Porkbelly set for two (4,300 Yen), which includes high-quality Japanese pork belly, fresh lettuce, kimchi, and garlic. Available for two or more, it’s a generous and satisfying meal.

Once ordered, the staff sets up a special slanted grill, designed to let excess fat drip away, ensuring a perfectly cooked and flavorful dish.

The attentive staff skillfully grills kimchi, eringi and enoki mushrooms, onions, and the pork belly right at the table. The generous portions and sizzling aromas will leave you hungry for more.

The pork belly grills to a golden crisp on the outside while staying juicy and tender inside. Just looking at it will have you drooling!

Once perfectly grilled, the staff expertly cuts the pork belly into bite-sized pieces with scissors, making it easy to enjoy.

Take a crisp lettuce leaf, add a piece of juicy pork belly and some tangy kimchi, wrap it up, and take a bite. The combination of fresh lettuce and rich, savory pork is absolutely divine!

The crispy korean seafood pancake (1,580 Yen) is served with a sweet-and-spicy dipping sauce. The rich, savory flavor of the seafood and the sauce’s bold kick make it incredibly delicious.

Not content with just samgyeopsal, we decided to indulge in some beef BBQ for an extra treat.

The staff quickly swaps the grill for a roaster designed for beef BBQ, showcasing their attentive and flexible service.

Thick-cut beef tongue (2 portions, 2,760 Yen) arrives, and its mouthwatering aroma fills the air as it grills.

Grilled to perfection, the beef tongue is tender and bursting with flavor. Wrapped in lettuce, it’s an unforgettable treat.

We also ordered ribeye (1 portion, 1,480 Yen) and skirt steak (1 portion, 1,280 Yen). Both cuts are top-quality and promise a delicious experience.

The grilled ribeye and skirt steak are incredibly juicy, with rich, meaty flavors that linger with every bite. It’s absolutely satisfying!
