Located just 3 minutes on foot from Keikyu Kamata Station, Tatsumaru is a hidden gem perfect for travelers heading to or from Haneda Airport. This cozy ramen shop focuses on 100% Japanese ingredients, serving rich soy sauce and salt ramen enhanced with a touch of pork back fat for deep, savory flavor. Locals and tourists alike love its simple yet powerful taste made from high-quality materials.

As evening falls, the soft glow of white paper lanterns lights up the street, creating a clean and welcoming contrast with the bold red sign. The gently waving flags give off a traditional Japanese vibe – you can’t help but stop and take a look, even though it’s so close to the station.

We went all out and ordered the Special Ramen and Chashu Ramen (extra pork). When you hand over your ticket, the friendly owner asks, “Would you like medium-large noodles?” – a nice little touch of hospitality.

A great deal! The regular size is already satisfying, but if you’re hungry, go for medium-large – same price, more noodles. Perfect for big eaters!

The small, cozy interior has only 8 counter seats. With a wooden counter and clean space, you can watch the ramen being prepared right in front of you. It’s a relaxed spot, great for solo diners.

A bowl full of thick, tender chashu pork – 6 big slices! The balance of lean meat and fat is perfect, and it stays delicious even after soaking in the hot soup.

The Special Ramen is loaded with extras: a shiny seasoned soft-boiled egg (ajitama) and fragrant dried seaweed. It turns a classic ramen into a luxurious meal.

One sip, and you’ll feel the pure power of the ingredients. The pork and chicken bones are carefully cooked to extract deep flavor without cloudiness. A hint of pork back fat adds smooth richness – this is true craftsmanship.

Each bite melts in your mouth. Using Kagoshima’s high-quality lean pork, it’s cooked gently to lock in the meat’s natural sweetness and moisture. A must for pork lovers.

The yolk is incredibly rich and creamy. When mixed with the soup, it adds a luxurious smoothness. Perfectly soft-boiled – a highlight of the special ramen.

These noodles are designed to pair perfectly with the broth. You’ll taste the natural wheat sweetness, and the smooth texture slides down easily. They stay firm even in hot soup.

Dip the seaweed into the broth, and the ocean aroma rises up. The crisp texture and umami blend with the soup, making every bite more exciting. Don’t miss this!
Tatsumaru is just minutes from Haneda Airport – the perfect stop for a warm, authentic bowl of Japanese ramen. Whether you’re traveling, on a business trip, or exploring Tokyo, this is comfort food at its best!
